A 1/4hp fridge and freezer compressor suits domestic fridge-freezers, chest freezers and bottle coolers.
Match refrigerant (R134a or R600a), back pressure and voltage from the old nameplate. HP alone is not enough.
What is a 1/4hp fridge and freezer compressor?
Fridge and freezer compressors are small hermetic reciprocating compressors sealed in a steel shell. They run domestic fridges, chest freezers, bottle coolers and display cabinets.
Each model is built for one refrigerant, such as R134a or R600a, and for a back pressure range: low for freezers, medium or high for coolers. Therefore, horsepower alone is not enough to match a replacement.
