What is an HDPE saddle clamp?
An HDPE saddle clamp, also called a tapping saddle, clamps around a polyethylene main and provides a threaded outlet. After fitting, a hole is drilled through the outlet into the main.
As a result, you can take a new service line off an existing main without cutting it. A rubber seal between the saddle and pipe keeps the joint watertight.
