Magnetic Sealless Pump

A magnetic sealless pump drives its impeller through a magnetic coupling, so there is no shaft seal to leak.

A magnetic sealless pump drives its impeller through a magnetic coupling, so there is no shaft seal to leak.

It suits hazardous and costly liquids. However, it must never run dry.

What is a magnetic sealless pump?

A centrifugal pump moves liquid with a spinning impeller. Liquid enters at the centre, the impeller throws it outward, and the casing turns that speed into pressure.

Single-stage pumps suit high flow at moderate pressure, while multistage pumps stack impellers for high pressure. Materials and seals are chosen for the liquid: stainless for clean or hot water, plastics or magnetic drives for chemicals, and special designs for hot thermal oil.

Key terms explained

Head
The height a pump can lift liquid, in metres. It sets the pressure the pump delivers.
Impeller
The spinning part that adds energy to the liquid.
Multistage
Several impellers in series to build higher pressure.
Mechanical seal
The rotating seal that stops leaks where the shaft leaves the casing.
Magnetic drive
A sealless drive that turns the impeller through a magnetic coupling.

Features and benefits

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a magnetic drive pump?

No seal means no leaks of hazardous liquids.

What details do you need to quote centrifugal pumps?

Tell us the liquid, flow rate, head or pressure, temperature, power supply and any model number or nameplate photo. A photo of the old part, a nameplate or a drawing also helps. Then call or WhatsApp 0726 086 895, or use the quote form on this page.

Do you deliver centrifugal pumps outside Nairobi?

Yes. We supply customers across Kenya, and we also serve buyers in Uganda and Tanzania. Delivery or courier arrangements are agreed when you confirm the order.

How much does a centrifugal pump cost in Kenya?

The price depends on the model, size, materials and quantity. Therefore, send your list with a quote request and we will reply with current figures.

Can a centrifugal pump run dry?

No. Dry running damages the seal quickly.

Do you supply pump curves?

Ask us for the curve of the model you choose.

Can you supply spare seals?

Yes, send the pump model or seal size.

Single phase or three phase?

Small pumps are often single phase. Larger pumps usually need three phase.

How do I stop cavitation?

Keep suction short and wide, and keep the liquid level high.

People also search for

single stage vs multistage pump

Multistage pumps build higher pressure by stacking impellers.

magnetic drive pump advantages

No shaft seal, so no leaks of hazardous liquids.

pump head vs pressure

Ten metres of head is about one bar for water.

how to size a pump

Find the flow and total head, then pick a pump whose curve meets that point.

why pumps cavitate

Low suction pressure lets bubbles form and collapse, damaging the impeller.
