HDPE fittings join, turn, branch and close polyethylene water pipes. This page explains the types so you can build a full list.
We supply elbows, tees, reducers, caps, adaptors, flange adaptors and saddle clamps. Send your list with pipe sizes in mm, and we will quote it together.
What are HDPE fittings?
HDPE fittings join, turn, branch, reduce and close polyethylene pipes. They include elbows, tees, reducers, end caps, adaptors, flange adaptors and saddle clamps.
There are three main joint types. Compression fittings seal with a nut and O-ring, butt fusion welds pipe ends, and electrofusion uses fittings with built-in heating wires. Choose by pipe size, pressure and site conditions.

Key terms explained
- HDPE
- High-density polyethylene, a tough, flexible plastic used for water and gas pipes.
- PE100 and PE80
- Grades of polyethylene. PE100 is stronger, so pipes can have thinner walls for the same pressure.
- PN rating
- Pressure Nominal, the working pressure in bar, such as PN10 or PN16.
- SDR
- Standard Dimension Ratio: outside diameter divided by wall thickness. A lower SDR means a thicker, stronger wall.
- Butt fusion
- Joining two HDPE pipe ends by heating them and pressing them together.
- Compression fitting
- A fitting that seals on the pipe with a nut, split ring and rubber O-ring, with no heat needed.
Features and benefits
- Full range of shapes for HDPE systems.
- Compression, butt fusion and electrofusion types.
- Corrosion-free bodies.
- Threaded adaptors for metal transitions.

Applications of HDPE fittings
- Water mains. Joins and branches buried HDPE mains.
- House connections. Connects service lines to mains and taps.
- Boreholes. Connects delivery pipe at pumps and tanks.
- Irrigation. Builds mains, sub-mains and laterals.
- Farm water. Feeds troughs and tanks.
- Estates and campuses. Builds reticulation networks.
- Pump stations. Connects HDPE to flanged pumps and valves.
- Mining and industry. Builds process water lines.
How to choose and install
- List each fitting by type and pipe size in mm.
- Use compression fittings for small sizes and fusion for large mains.
- Match PN ratings to the pipe.
- Use threaded adaptors at metal valves and pumps.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order HDPE fittings in mixed sizes?
Yes. Send one list with types, sizes and quantities.
What details do you need to quote HDPE fittings?
Tell us the size in mm or inches, the pressure rating (PN) and the quantity. A photo of the old part, a nameplate or a drawing also helps. Then call or WhatsApp 0726 086 895, or use the quote form on this page.
Do you deliver HDPE fittings outside Nairobi?
Yes. We supply customers across Kenya, and we also serve buyers in Uganda and Tanzania. Delivery or courier arrangements are agreed when you confirm the order.
How much does a HDPE fitting cost in Kenya?
The price depends on the size, the pressure rating and the quantity. Therefore, send your list with a quote request and we will reply with current figures.
Can HDPE fittings be buried?
Yes. HDPE is well suited to burial. Bed it in sand or fine soil and keep sharp stones away.
Do HDPE fittings resist sunlight?
Black HDPE contains carbon black, which protects it from UV. Even so, burying or shading pipe extends its life.
Which HDPE fittings do I need for a borehole line?
Usually a male adaptor at the pump, elbows, a valve and an adaptor at the tank.
Can I mix brands of HDPE fittings?
Yes, if they match the pipe OD and pressure rating.
Do HDPE fittings need sealant?
Compression joints seal with O-rings. Only threaded ends need PTFE tape.
