A PPR cross joins four PPR pipes at one point.
It feeds two branches from one point on the run. Therefore, it saves space in compact manifolds.
What is a PPR cross?
A PPR tee joins three PPR pipes in a T shape, so a branch can leave the main line. A cross joins four. Threaded tees have a brass thread on the branch for a tap, gauge or valve.
Tees are fused like other PPR fittings. As a result, each branch joint is leak-free and rust-free for the life of the system.

Key terms explained
- PPR
- Polypropylene random copolymer, a plastic made for hot and cold water pipes. It joins by heat fusion.
- Socket fusion
- Heating the pipe end and fitting socket on a welding machine, then pushing them together so they fuse into one piece.
- PN rating
- The pressure class, such as PN16, PN20 or PN25. A higher PN has a thicker wall for hot water and higher pressure.
- Outside diameter (OD)
- PPR is sized by outside diameter in mm, such as 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 mm.
- Brass insert
- A threaded brass part moulded into a PPR fitting, so it can connect to metal threads.
- Reducing tee
- A tee with a smaller branch than the main run.
Features and benefits
- Branch outlets for PPR lines.
- Equal, reducing and threaded types.
- Fusion sockets on the run.
- Rust-free PPR body.

Applications of a PPR cross
- Bathroom branches. Feeds basins, showers and toilets.
- Kitchen branches. Feeds sinks and appliances.
- Floor take-offs. Feeds floors from risers.
- Water heater feeds. Splits cold water to heaters.
- Gauge points. Provides a threaded branch for gauges.
- Drain points. Adds a drain valve at low points.
- Manifolds. Builds hot and cold manifolds.
- Line extensions. Adds new outlets to existing lines.
How to choose and install
- Pick by run size, then the branch size or thread.
- Fit a valve on each branch.
- Align tees before welding, because fused joints cannot be turned.
- Seal brass threads with PTFE tape.

Frequently asked questions
When should I use a PPR cross?
When two branches leave the same point, such as in a compact manifold.
What details do you need to quote PPR tees?
Tell us the size in mm, the PN class and the quantity. A photo of the old part, a nameplate or a drawing also helps. Then call or WhatsApp 0726 086 895, or use the quote form on this page.
Do you deliver PPR tees outside Nairobi?
Yes. We supply customers across Kenya, and we also serve buyers in Uganda and Tanzania. Delivery or courier arrangements are agreed when you confirm the order.
How much does a PPR tee cost in Kenya?
The price depends on the size, the PN class and the quantity. Therefore, send your list with a quote request and we will reply with current figures.
Can PPR tees be used for hot water?
Yes. PPR is made for hot and cold water. Use a suitable PN class for hot lines, such as PN20 or PN25.
How are PPR tees joined?
PPR parts join by socket fusion with a PPR welding machine. Threaded and brass insert parts connect to metal with a sealed thread.
Which tee suits a tap outlet?
A female threaded tee, so the tap or connector screws into the brass.
Can I add a tee to an existing PPR line?
Yes. Drain the line, cut in, and weld the tee with couplers if needed.
How are reducing tee sizes written?
Run size first, then branch, such as 25 x 20 mm.

PPR welding temperature
Socket fusion tools usually work at about 260 degrees Celsius. Follow the machine and fitting maker instructions.
PN16 vs PN20 PPR
PN20 has a thicker wall and suits hot water. PN16 is often used for cold water.
