PPR Short Bridge

A PPR short bridge passes one line over another in a tight space.

It is shorter than a standard crossover. Therefore, it suits closely spaced pipes behind fixtures.

What is a PPR short bridge?

A PPR crossover, also called a bridge, is a curved pipe fitting that lets one PPR line pass over another without connecting to it. A U-bend makes a smooth 180 degree turn.

These fittings keep hot and cold lines neat where they cross. As a result, installers avoid awkward elbows and extra joints.

Key terms explained

PPR

Polypropylene random copolymer, a plastic made for hot and cold water pipes. It joins by heat fusion.

Socket fusion

Heating the pipe end and fitting socket on a welding machine, then pushing them together so they fuse into one piece.

PN rating

The pressure class, such as PN16, PN20 or PN25. A higher PN has a thicker wall for hot water and higher pressure.

Outside diameter (OD)

PPR is sized by outside diameter in mm, such as 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 mm.

Crossover (bridge)

A raised curved fitting that lets one pipe pass over another.

U-bend

A 180 degree bend that reverses the direction of a pipe.
