Tapered roller bearing cone and cup come as an inner cone with rollers and a separate outer cup.
See the main tapered roller bearings page.
What is a tapered roller bearing cone and cup?
Bearings are chosen by the load they carry. Ball bearings run fast with moderate load, roller bearings carry heavy radial load, tapered and angular contact bearings carry combined radial and axial load, and thrust bearings carry axial load.
Spherical plain bearings and rod ends allow tilting and oscillating motion, linear bearings guide motion along a shaft, and freewheels drive in one direction only. Therefore, the machine design decides the bearing type.
