The ZP48 scroll compressor suits ducted and split AC units, small packaged units and small cold rooms. Its model number points to a nominal capacity of about 48,000 BTU/h.
By the usual naming, ZP48 indicates roughly 48,000 BTU/h, or about 4 tons of refrigeration, at standard rating conditions. Confirm capacity, voltage code and fittings from the nameplate or data sheet before ordering.
What is a ZP48 scroll compressor?
ZP scroll compressors are hermetic scroll compressors built for R410A. R410A runs at much higher pressure than R22, so ZP models have stronger shells and use POE oil.
The number in a ZP model, such as ZP61, roughly indicates nominal capacity in thousands of BTU/h. As a result, a ZP61 and a ZR61 have similar capacity, but they are not interchangeable because of the different refrigerant and pressures.
